Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Flaredog ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects the information you provide when you interact with our website and services. We collect only what we need, and we tell you what each thing is for.

1. Information We Collect

Contact form

Job applications

When you apply for a role through our careers pages, we collect:

Design partner applications

When you apply to our design partner programme, we collect:

Everyone

We also record limited technical metadata with each submission — IP address, browser user agent, and the referring page — to prevent abuse and understand where enquiries come from.

We do not use third-party trackers or advertising cookies on this site.

2. How We Use Your Information, and Why We Are Allowed To

We use what you give us only for the purpose you gave it for:

3. Job Applicants: What This Means in Practice

Your application is used to consider you for the role you applied for. We may also consider you for other roles at Flaredog where it is obviously relevant.

Applying for a job does not sign you up for marketing. The marketing checkbox on our application form is optional, unticked by default, and entirely separate. Whether you tick it has no bearing whatsoever on your application, and we will not use it to judge you. If you leave it unticked, we will not send you product email.

Your CV is stored in a private, access-controlled bucket. It is not public, not indexed by search engines, and not shared outside Flaredog.

4. Email Communications

Transactional email — an acknowledgement that we received your application, or an update on its progress — is part of the service you asked for, and is sent to everyone who applies.

Marketing email is sent only to people who opted in. Every marketing email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. You can also email hello@flaredog.com at any time to be removed.

5. Who We Share It With

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers needed to operate the site, each acting on our instructions:

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so.

6. Where Your Data Is Held

Our infrastructure is operated on globally distributed networks, so your data may be processed outside the country in which you live, including outside the UK and EEA. Where that happens, we rely on our providers' standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards.

7. How Long We Keep It

8. Security

Submissions are stored in a managed database with access controls, and CVs in a private bucket that is not publicly readable. Administrative access requires an individual account and password, and every change made to an application is logged against the person who made it. All traffic to and from the site uses HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

9. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@flaredog.com. We will respond within one month. If you are in the UK or EEA and are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your local data protection authority.

10. Automated Decision-Making

We do not make decisions about you by automated means. Every hiring and design partner decision is made by a person.

11. Children

The site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted on this page, and the "Last updated" date above will be revised.
